28-year old emptied fire extinguisher from the stage during Karpe Diem concert

Around 4,500 people were evacuated from a concert with Karpe Diem in Bergen on Saturday night, after a 28-year-old man with access to the backstage area emptied a fire extinguisher at the audience.

Police informed around midnight on Sunday that the 28-year old man has been arrested and has confessed the misdeed.
– He had access to the backstage area and was not part of the regular audience, but was there because he had associated with other artists. He has confessed to everything and apologized. He’s probably not in a good place now, said police superintendent Bent Angeltvedt in Hordaland Police told the newspaper Bergens Tidende.
Police await a police report and possibly a substantial claim for compensation after the incident.
The 5-6 people closest to the stage were taken to the emergency department to be checked for injuries after inhaling the powder. The concert was stopped at 22.30 on Saturday.
Panic in tent
One of concert attendees told the regional newspaper that people panicked and rushed out. In the middle of the concert  int the tent on Koengen, it was announced from the stage that the audience had to leave the premises.
There was a lot of smoke in the room and many were not able to breathe, says Ole Tøkje (23).
Sara Skiple Sátão (22) says to the news service NTB that there were several people who entered the stage and turned the hose on the fire extinguisher at the audience.
– It was absolutely terrible. Several people cried and begged them to stop. Many of the guards laid down on the floor, it was a complete chaos.
