The Aha concert and fear of a shortage of hotel rooms make Viking Cruise dropping the plans for a breathtaking christening of the company’s new cruise ships in Bergen in the spring.
The baptism of MV Viking Sea was scheduled been concluded in Bergen on May the 8. Now is the baptism moved to Greenwich, southeast London instead.
– The company moved the baptizing plans when it became known that Aha will have a concert on the same date. We understand the company and that it creates a shortage of hotel rooms in the city, said Acting Port Director Ulrik Jørgensen in Bergen and District Harbour department (BOH) to the website Maritime.no.In the uproar that followed in the wake of the baptism of her sister ship Viking Star May 17 last year, when the former mayor of Bergen Trude Drevland and Port Director Inge Tangerås were indicted for corruption.
