This summer a new “Frozen” -landscape will open in the Norwegian Pavilion at Disney World in Florida. As a part of that landscape Disney will use a replicas of a building from from Sverresborg in Trondheim.
Now we will get the opportunity to show some of the architecture and history of Trøndelag, Stig Hillestad in Visit Trondheim says to the newspaper Adresseavisen.
The new section is scheduled to open this summer. At the opening the guests will get to meet Anna and Elsa from the popular movie “Frozen”, among others.
The building which will adorn the new Frozen landscape of the park is Detlistua . Detlistua Oppdal was built in 1817 and rebuilt at Sverresborg in 1924.
Sverresborg folk museum is also overjoyed at the news from Disney.
– The film Frozen means a lot to many children in the world. Trondheim now becomes a part of an incredible universe, says Torunn Herje, director of the Sverresborg Folk Museum, says to the newspaper.
– When Disney World work on this kind of project, they put a lot of work into their research. That they chose Oppdalstunet ( the Oppdal country courtyard), means that they rate this building highly. This is a confirmation of what we we feel: that our buildings are among the most beautiful buildings in Norway , the director continued.
The Frozen landscape will become a part of the Norwegian pavilion in the Epcot World Showcase in the amusement park.
