The film “The King’s Choice” is close to an Oscar nomination

“The King’s Choice” is one step closer to an Oscar nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film.

Director of the film, Erik Poppe has been put on the short list of nine candidates.

The other foreign films that are still in the running are, the Danish film “Under the Sand,” the Swedish film “A Man Named Ove”, “Tanna” from Australia, “It’s Only the End of the World” from Canada, “My daddy Toni Erdmann” from Germany, “The Salesman” from Iran, the Russian film “Paradise” and the Swiss-French family film “Dandelion Children”.

The final list of nominees – of five film names – will be presented together with the other Oscar nominations on January 24th. The Oscars are to be held on the 6th of February.

According to a measurement from November, nearly 669,000 people have seen “The King’s Choice” in Norwegian cinemas.
