Culture Minister Trine Skei Grande led this year’s Pride parade, where 138 cars and many thousands of people fill the capital with colors and parties.
In this year’s Pride parade, 137 different companies and associations have been registered and they filled in Greenland on Saturday afternoon. The parade is the most visible event in Oslo after the 17th of May, and according to Minister of Culture Trine Skei Grande (V), who was at the front of the parade this year, the most fun.
“This is far from my first pride, but this is the first time I got to go first. The parade is a fantastic event. A bit like 17th May used to be before all the rules, a jubilant Grande said to NTB just before the parade began Saturday.
Grande was joined by Oslo mayor Marianne Borgen (SV) in front of the parade. Behind them followed a large number of cars and thousands of celebratory people for the occasion dressed in all the colors of the rainbow.
This year’s parade began at 13:00 in Greenland in Oslo, and it ended in “Pride Park” at Spikersuppa a few hours later. In addition to being a giant folk party, the parade is a political mark of the diversity of gender expressions, sexuality, identity and legends.
