Jahn Teigen has died

Jahn Teigen died at Ystad Hospital in Sweden on Monday night, aged 70, reports Trond Lie to NTB.

In recent years, the popular artist has lived a quiet life at Klockargården in Ingelstorp outside Ystad, where he moved in 2008. The popular artist has lived a secluded life on the farm in recent years.

Teigen leaves behind daughter Sara Skorgan Teigen (35) who he had with Anita Skorgan.

Manager Trond Lie tells NTB that the family is in mourning and that they do not want to comment on his death.

Jahn Teigen was born in Tønsberg in 1949. He is one of Norway’s most famous artists who has passed away. The legendary singer and songwriter has also starred in several musicals, films and was a program director for a variety of TV shows.

In addition to receiving the Spellemann Award in 1978, he has also been awarded the Spellemann Award in both 1983 and 2009.

He received the Norwegian Artist’s Association Honorary Award in 2003 and received the Komi Award with Prima Vera in 2014. He is also inducted into the Rockheim Hall of Fame in 2012 and together with the group Popol Ace in 2017.

Jahn Teigen was a 1st Class Knight of the Order of St. Olav.
