Princess Märtha Louise attended the opening seminar at the Abloom Film Festival in Oslo on Thursday.
– “Princess Märtha Louise is genuinely interested, caring and has long experience in helping children and young people with disabilities. Abloom is very grateful and we are looking forward to meeting the princess at the conference,” says Festival Director Faridah Shakoor Nabaggala.
Abloom is a film festival about and for children and young people with disabilities. In 2017, 2,700 people visited the festival. The professional conference, which is attached to Abloom, is arranged for it’s seventh consecutive year. This year’s theme is “Universal Design? Design for everyone! ».
– “The princess is a model for users, relatives and us who work daily to strengthen people with disabilities in Norway. She has been, and is still versatile and committed to human well-being – regardless of color, economic status, religion, sex and legacy. Norway has every reason to be proud of Princess Märtha Louise,” says Nabaggala.
Abloom started as a film festival, but today it has its own interest organization with daily activity, more employees and many volunteers.
Since 2012, Abloom has worked for increased attention, strengthening of rights, real inclusion and activation of people with disabilities, including many asylum seekers and refugees. A key part of Abloom’s work is the annual film festival, which includes the trade conference.
