Pink Floyd legend, Roger Waters, is visiting Norway. On Monday he was at the Nobel Peace Center, discussing politics and playing music.

The British vocalist, bassist, and songwriter has never been afraid to share his political views, and seemed very engaged when he met Director, Liv Tørres at the Nobel Peace Center, and music journalist, Robert Hoftun Gjestad of Aftenposten newspaper, for political and musical conversation on Monday evening.

Waters, among other things, took up the subject of his Palestinian involvement, as he has expressed a number of times earlier, encouraging other artists to drop concerts in Israel.

How Waters became politically active, the civil war in Syria, the father who died during World War I, the influence of his mother, and the question of how music can change the world were also among the topics discussed.

A packed Nobel Peace Center also became a musical treat when the evening was rounded off with a mini-concert from the 74-year-old music legend. Following the plan, he should only have played one song, but Waters gave three, and finished by playing the classic, “Mother” in front of the 250 person audience.

Waters is in Norway in connection with the world tour, ‘Us + Them’,where he will perform in total for over two million people. On Tuesday and Wednesday, he takes on Telenor Arena, where he plays through sounds from his career with Pink Floyd, as well as from his latest solo album “Is This The Life We Really Want?”.
