Tuesday the Crown Princess opened the new library and activity house on Furuset in Oslo.
The library subsidiary is converted into a modern library and activity center. The former library of 800 square meters have expanded to including the floor above and a total area of 1,450 square meters.
In addition to the book sections and other library sections, the new building will include a cinema”tek”, cafe, Furuset volunteer center and Furuset youth center.
The new meeting place of Alna district was opened by Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. The meeting was also attended by, among others the Mayor of Oslo Marianne Borgen (SV).
Furuset library is a subsidiary of the Oslo Public Library. According to Dagsavisen the gets about 150,000 visitors annually, which makes it one of the most visited library subsidiaries in Oslo.
