King Harald and Queen Sonja attended the 25th anniversary of the Gullbring cultural center in Bø, Telemark. The royal couple also laid the foundation stone for new student housing.

The royal couple and mayor Borgar Torbjørn Kaasa in Bø (Sp) received bicycle transport for the celebration of the Gullbring cultural facility. This includes concert and theater halls, cinema, sports facilities and landscaped swimming pool facility.

The cultural center opened in 1994 and at a cost of NOK 72 million.

Furthermore, the royal couple laid the foundation stone for the new student housing for the University of Southeastern Norway (USN).

The visit ended with a tour of the national costume company Almankås. Queen Sonja was dressed in the red national costume from East Telemark for the occasion. Princess Ingrid Alexandra was given a ‘bunad’ from the same place from her grandparents as a confirmation gift. Queen Sonja even embroidered the costume.
