The world’s tallest cathedral Ulm Minster in Germany is facing danger because people who don’t want to take time to find a toilet, urinate right on the magnificent building.

The salt and acid in the urine corrodes the sandstone, so the ongoing renovation work is valueless. The building’s condition is in danger, warn Ulm officials.

The increase of the penalty from 50 to 100 Euros also did not help.

In spite of this, urination continues and no one gets a penalty.

– I have kept a close eye on the cathedral for half a year now and it is still covered with urine and vomit, said Michael Hilbert, head of the agency with the task of preserving the 161.53 meter high sacred place.

Hilbert says the problem is that there are too many festivals in the square around the cathedral – and too few toilets.
