Student hospitalized with meningitis

One student in 2nd grade at Nesbru High school in Asker is hospitalized with meningitis.

The student was hospitalized on Thursday, writes the municipal Health Authority in Asker in a statement to the press.
It has been clarified that the disease is caused by the Meningococcal bacteria, but the type is yet unknown. The student’s is in a stable but serious condition.
Cases of meningitis mostly occur as single cases, and there are rarely a cluster of several cases. The disease is spread by respiratory droplets, such as transmitted by kissing or sharing glasses and bottles. Healthy people can have the bacterium in their system without knowing it.
