43,000 more people earning wages in Norway

In the third quarter of this year, there were almost 2.7 million wage earners in Norway. That is almost 43,000 more than during the same quarter last year.

 

The growth among men is 2.1 per cent, against 1.2 per cent for women, according to Statistics Norway.

The number of employment appointments in Norway increased by 1.9 per cent to 2.9 million appointments in the third quarter of this year.

Growth in the number of wage earners is the largest in the category of technical services and property management.

Rogaland is the county in which the number of wage earners and employment relationships has increased the most – followed by Oslo.

At the same time, the number of vacancies has also increased. From the second to the third quarter of this year, the seasonally adjusted number of vacancies increased by 2,100. Most of the increase came in retail and car dealerships. Here, the number of positions increased by 1,300 from the second to the third quarter.
