– This is of course a bad day for everyone. Although it there are several industrial companies in Grenland, this will create difficulties for scab of our employees, said by board member Carl Christiansen on behalf of the Norwegian RHI board to NRK.

Only 40 people kept their job after the company decided to reduce staff. The largest RHI factory is at Porsgrunn, written newspaper Varden. Each Employee have received severance package offer.

RHI Normaq AS, which is producing various types of magnesium oxide, decided a week ago to close parts of the plant because it failed to compete in price with Chinese producers. Meanwhile, management announced that they will spend two or three more weeks to look further at the future of production and the employees.

According to Christiansen Håkan, factory starts up again if the situation in the market allows it.
