Beerenberg is laying off 250 employees as a result of lower activity in the oil industry.
The oil services company headquartered in Bergen will not exclude further cuts in 2017.
According to Offshore.no , the downsizing which will be completed by year-end, include both employees in the administration and on projects.
– Unfortunately, we have got an overcapacity of personnel. We understand this is a difficult situation for our employees, and the company will do its utmost to ensure that our employees experience the procedure as an orderly process, says communications manager Ole Klemsdal.
In 2015 the company also had a workforce reduction where 250 employees had to go, and the year previously the staff was decreased by 150 employees.
