Aker Solutions is stopping operations at Ågotnes at Sotra in Hordaland. The entire manufacturing workshop is shutting down, and 60 employees will lose their jobs as a result of this.

The employees were informed about the closure during a meeting in the company’s premises on Friday.
– This occurs as a result of a continuing decline in the market that does not justify the continued operation of this unit. The closure will affect approximately 60 permanent positions, and activity at the manufacturing’s plant will be ended in autumn, said Anne Cecilie Lund-Andersen, press officer for Aker Solutions to the NTB news agency.
She also emphasizes that the company’s activity in the subsea section will keep operrating in Ågotnes.
Aker Solutions was established in Ågotnes in 1994. By March last year, they  expanded the business by creating four new workshops halls and a new office in addition to the three that existed there before.
