The Government will provide an additional 70 million kroner to the development of climate-friendly ships through a new aid scheme.
Through this arrangement, we want to help companies to put more environmentally friendly technologies on the market, and create more green jobs, Minister of Trade Monica Mæland says in a statement on Thursday.
The support program Pilot-E is launched by the Research Council, Innovation Norway and Enova. The 70 million kroner will go to players who want to develop new solutions for emission maritime transport.
Earlier this month the government informed that it proposes to set aside NOK 65 million for electric ferries and other environmentally friendly shipping in the revised national budget. This money is in addition to the funding provided through the Pilot E.
