Altogether 90 employees are now without work since Eide Marine Services with headquarters in Kvinnherad announces bankruptcy on Monday.
According to Kvinnheringen the company said in a letter to its creditors on Friday that it has no choice but to file for bankruptcy in court.
The company, with a fleet of around 40 vessels engaged in towing and heavy lifting at sea. They were headquartered in Høylandsbygd at Hals Blanca in Kvinnherad.
In 2015 they had a deficit before tax of minus 128 million, according to Bergens Tidende.
– It is a dark day for the whole community in Kvinnherad. It is a dramatic situation, and I think of all those who are out of work and their families, who are entering a time of great uncertainty, said Mayor Peder Sjo Slettebø to Kvinnheringen.
