Service company Aibel has been awarded a contract worth over 600 million NOK to study the installation of a new gas module on Troll C platform in the North Sea.

Work on the so-called FEED study (Front End Engineering Design) starts immediately and will be completed in May 2017.

The study will be conducted at Aibel’s office in Bergen, who has extensive experience with modification work on the Norwegian shelf. Around 40 people will be involved in the work.

The contract from Statoil also has an option on the implementation of the project. If the option is put into effect then implementation phase will be managed from Bergen, while the module will be built at Aibel’s yard in Haugesund.

Aibel has seven offices in Norway. The company also has operations in Thailand, Singapore, Denmark, and Egypt.
