Airfares decreased by 0.1 per cent from the 3rd quarter of 2015 to the same quarter this year. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2016, the prices decreased by 5.3 per cent.

Tickets that have little or no flexibility after purchase are regarded as targeting private travellers, while flexible tickets are considered to be aimed at business travellers. Pricing for “personal travel” increased 1.5 per cent, while prices for “business trips” decreased 4.4 per cent compared to the same quarter of 2015. Compared to Q2 2016, rates decreased by 5.1 and 5.6 per cent respectively for “private travel” and “business travel”.

Higher storage prices

Storage and warehousing prices increased by 4.4 per cent from the 3rd quarter of 2015 to the same quarter this year. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2016, the prices increased by 0.4 per cent. Storage of dry goods went up by 4.2 per cent, while frozen/cold storage and other storage went up by 4.5 per cent and 5.6 per cent compared to the same quarter in 2015.

Price increases for cargo handling

Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2015, prices for cargo handling rose 0.5 per cent. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2016, the index table was stable.

More expensive postal and courier activities

The total index for postal and courier services increased 3.8 per cent compared to the same quarter in 2015. However, compared to the 2nd quarter of 2016, the total index declined 0.1 per cent. The sub-indices for postal activities under universal obligation and other postal and courier activities increased by 3.9 and 3.5 per cent respectively from the 3rd quarter of 2015 to the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Price increases for freight road transport

The total index for freight transport by road increased by 0.7 per cent from the 3rd quarter of 2015 to the 3rd quarter of 2016. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2016, the prices increased by 0.6 per cent.
