Over 1.7 million barrels of oil was produced per day on the Norwegian shelf in July. It is ten percent more than was produced in the same period last year.

Oil production is 9 percent higher than the forecast prediction for July, the preliminary production figures, which was presented on Tuesday.

322,000 more barrels were produced per day in July than in June, which was expected since it was shut down for maintenance in June.

The reason for the high production in July is that many fields produced above expectations and that the Goliat oil field, which started production in March, now contributes significantly in oil production.
