The business community are pleased with environmental measures in the budget

‘The budget agreement is a victory for environmental restructuring of the sector’, said the industry’s biggest organisation, Virke.

‘Virke are pleased that it was a budget deal that gives clear incentives for environmentally-friendly changes in industry, and transport in particular’, said managing director, Vibeke H. Madsen, of Virke.

‘Encouraging conversion to bio-fuels is vital for cutting emissions from transport’, according to Madsen.

Government parties Høyre (H) and the Fremskrittspartiet (Frp) offered supportive roles to the Venstre (Left) and Kristelig Folkeparti (KrF) political parties and a package of 6.3 billion,
so to reach agreement on the state budget for 2017.

For the business community, there’ll be established a CO2 fund to strengthen efforts to reduce emissions. In addition, the budget agreement introduced a flat CO2 tax and attempts with reductions at fossil-fuelled building sites.

On Saturday, the parties held a joint press conference at ASKO-Norway’s premises, to presentthe package that saved the 2017 budget. ASKO is regarded as a pioneer in environmentally friendly solutions for business.
