Online Norwegian shoppers are  fooled by brand bikinis, sunglasses and shoes at low prices. The Consumer Ombudsman warns against online retailers that offer expensive designer clothes at a bargain price.

– Because they have a lot of time on their hands and a little extra money in their accounts,  many people use the summer to shop online. But don’t spend your money uncritically,  acting consumer ombudsman Jo Gjedrem advises.

The Consumer Ombudsman has updated  its scam gallery, a list of online stores they warn consumers against, with a dozen new sites.

During the summer, the Ombudsman received several tips about shops selling typical summer products at very favorable prices.
– It’s better to check and look into the shop once too often than once too little. Many of them are making a lot of money from Norwegian shoppers relying on seemingly serious online stores, says Gjedrem.
