The data inspectorate wants deletion of used mobiles

The Data inspectorate is going to suggest that those who accept used mobile phones in a return scheme, has the responsibility to delete personal information.

According to NRK the proposal will also apply to computers and other electronic devices with memory.
– We believe municipalities and retailers should be responsible for the personal information that is stored in the devices must be destroyed be. Then it is also in their interest not to deliver it to anyone, but actually make sure it is handled in a good way, says legal adviser Tobias Judin  in in the Data inspectorate.
