Prime Minister Erna Solberg goes from argument to cooperation with network giant Facebook.

Solberg’s government wants to cooperate with Facebook to promote education in conflict areas, reports the news agency Reuters.

Tributary of reconciliation comes less than a week after Solberg criticized the company for censorship. It all ended with Facebook changing their practice Friday night and allowing the publication of the iconic image of children fleeing napalm bombing during the Vietnam War.

Prime Minister posted the photo on her Facebook profile on Friday, the same day as Aftenposten used the entire front of a newspaper protesting Facebook’s actions. The image was deleted after a few hours, on the basis of Facebook’s rules against nudity. Solberg then published a censored version with reinforced criticism, before Facebook eventually changed the policy.

Solberg says it now is about contact and cooperation with Facebook.
– We have cooperated with Facebook and other social media on education, especially in conflict areas. If we are to get education to conflict areas then social media is one of possible platforms, she said.
