EU wants clarification on Norwegian’s application for permit to fly in the US

The European Commission asks the US government to make a definitive clarification on Norwegian’s application to fly direct flights from Ireland to the United States.

The Commission is now starting a mediation to resolve the dispute between the airline and the US government which has gone on for over two years, reports Reuters.
– We are very pleased that the EU is asking the US government for a mediation to get a definitive clarification on the application,  communications director  in Norwegian Lasse Sandakerveien-Nielsen, Sandakerveien-Nielsen..
Earlier in July Norwegian had  their application for a temporary permit to fly in the United States rejected by the US DOT.

– This means that they will spend even more time on processing the application for a permanent permit to fly for Norwegian Air UK (NUK), Norwegian then informed.
The Commission has previously said that they will take legal action to get the US government to approve the application of Norwegian Air International (NAI).
