Fewer passengers on international flights

There were 5.9 million passengers on board international flights in the 2nd quarter of 2016; a decrease of 0.9 per cent compared to the same quarter in 2015.

Airport passengers on domestic flights increased by 47 400 or 0.6 per cent to 8.5 million in the same period.

There were 14.5 million airport passengers on international and domestic flights in the 2nd quarter of 2016, which is 4 600 fewer than in the same period last year.

More passengers on international flights at Oslo Gardermoen
There were a total of 3.7 million passengers at Oslo Gardermoen on international flights. This is 3.3 per cent or 118 000 passengers more than in the 2nd quarter of 2015. Trondheim Værnes and Bergen Flesland saw their international traffic increase by 17 000 and 2 000 passengers respectively. Stavanger Sola, Moss Rygge and Haugesund Karmøy had a decrease of passengers on international flights by 75 200, 54 400 and 13 100 respectively.

Growth in goods transport
A total of 41 400 tonnes of goods were transported at Norwegian airports in the 2nd quarter of 2016. This is an increase of 1 100 tonnes or 3 per cent compared to the same quarter of 2015. A total of 27 500 tonnes were transported to and from Norway, which is an increase of 10 per cent.
