Employment and Social Affairs Minister Anniken Hauglie says that all candidates under the age of 30 will get a job related offer within eight weeks.

– I can confirm that we are introducing a special focus on the young in connection with the state budget for next year.  Every jobseeker under 30 who sign on with NAV, will be offered a job, training activity or education within eight weeks, says Hauglie to the newspaper VG .

The proposal was first launched in the Nav report that was presented in May.

– We want to seize hold of this group, because it is very important that they maintain contact with the labour market, says Hauglie.

On Thursday the Minister announced that she is also introducing compulsory activities for all under 30 receiving social assistance. NOK 60 million have been set aside for this purpose in the state budget for next year.

– Those who refuse to attend work or activities , risk having deductions made to their social assistance money, said Hauglie to the news agency NTB.
