Several measures to combat unemployment will be promoted when the revised National budget is submitted, but Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Anniken Hauglie believes there is no national unemployment crisis in Norway.

There is no national unemployment crisis in Norway, when the unemployment rate is at 3.1 percent. But there are too many people who are unemployed and the areas hit by the unemployment, are hit hard, like the people affected by unemployment are strongly affected,   Hauglie says the to newspaper VG.
– We have a two-tier labor market which is divided both by geography  and by gender. Most areas and sectors are going well, but men and Western Norway in particular are struggling because they are the ones most affected by the  oil problems and the problems of the oil-service industry. Our actions are targeted to the regions that have been hit hardest by the troubles, she continues.
When the revised National budget is submitted on Wednesday,  will be promoted several measures to combat unemployment, the  labor minister says. Among the main measures are some 1,000 placements per month in work initatives in the second half for unemployed people, an expansion of the redundancy regulations and changes to the rules for the daily allowance.
