The negotiations between Spectrum and Academics health has broken down, and doctors at several hospitals go on strike from Wednesday morning,  the National mediator confirms.

The parties were so far apart that there was no basis for submitting a proposal which could be expected to be recommended by both parties, according to national mediator Nils Dalseide.

–  The working hours that Spectrum has chosen  are irresponsible – both for workers andfor patient safety. The  expections that the doctors get from the Work Act are already as extensive they can be. Because of this, we are on strike, Rune Frøyland, chi\\\Chief negotiator  in Academics  health says in a statement.

– Spectrum deeply regrets that the Association has decided to go on strike because they have not had demands accepted which would have made it very difficult for hospitals to plan for the treatment of our patients in line with the new patient rights, orders from the political authorities, the increased expectations of the population and implementation of new specialist training for doctors, Anne-Kari Bratten in the Employers’ Association Spectrum says .
