Increased activity for Norwegian registered ships and Norwegian controlled vessels registered abroad

Norwegian registered ships made 59 000 port calls in 2015, nearly 12 per cent more than the year before.

Arrived gross tonnage was 814 million tonnes; an increase of almost 8 per cent.

This traffic is made up of 951 vessels with 16.0 million worth of gross tonnage, which is about the same as the year before.

Increased activity also for Norway’s foreign fleet
Norwegian controlled vessels registered abroad also experienced increased activity in 2015. There were 877 vessels in Norway’s foreign fleet in 2015, which is an increase of 7.2 per cent year-on-year.

Norwegian controlled vessels registered abroad made about 49 950 port calls in 2014. In 2015, this figure increased by 2.5 per cent to 51 200. Arrived gross tonnage increased even more, by almost 7.5 per cent, ending at nearly 758 million tonnes.
