Indian Ashok Vaswani is proposed as the third new director of Telenor. The 55-year-old is the CEO of the large bank Barclays UK.

Telenor ASA informs of this in a press statement on Tuesday morning.
Vaswani has previously held several executive positions in both Barclays and Citibank. He also has worked in Brysam Global Partners, a company located in New York with private banking as his specialty.
Monday Telenor said that Siri Beate Hatlen (59) and Jacob Aqraou (43) is proposed as the other two new directors of Telenor ASA.
The three are proposed as substitutes for Frank Dangeard, Marit Vaagen and Burckhard Bergmann, all of whom have asked to resign from the board.
Telenor has received strong criticism for his handling of reports of concern about corruption in the Russian Vimpelcom, where it owns 33 per cent of the shares. The law firm Deloitte which have been responsible for the inquiry of this matter, said both the CEO, directors and industry minister was informed too late. Both the management and the Board of Telenor has vowed to learn from the case.
