Wage growth was 2.5 percent in the industry last year, well below the level of 2014 at 3.3 percent. NHO believes figures show that employers and employees of Norway partners are taking  the difficult economic times into consideration.

The companies are now behind the scheme to show moderation in the amount decided upon for their wages,  Svein Oppegaard, director of employment policy in NHO, says.
He rejoices over the figures in the interim report from the Technical Reporting Committee, which forms the basis for this year’s wage negotiations.
– That other parties supports the frontal subject model reveals the strength of the Norwegian model for wage formation,  Oppegaard mantains and points out that  the wage growth of 2.5 per cent in industry is very close to the frame from last year’s settlement of 2.7 per cent.
