The rig company Maersk Drilling Norway has fired between 130 and 140 employees, reports the website Petro.

This downsizing is due to two rig contracts that Mærsk Gallant and Statoil respectively terminated during the year, informs the employees’ association on its website.
The layoffs are not the first in the Danish rig company. In autumn 2015 about 150 employees in Maersk Drilling Norway lost their job and in spring, 70 others were dismissed according to Petro.
