During a single year on the market the web service Nabobil have had 13,000 lease transactions on their 3000 cars. They now have over 50,000 registered users.
The Car sharing service has been mentioned in the same breath as Airbnb and Uber during the past year .
– The aim is that in big cities such as Oslo you will be able to live without your own car, while in smaller more remote towns you will be able to drop the number of cars from two to one, said general manager Even Heggernes of Nabobil to Dagens Næringsliv newspaper.
It is the first time Nabobil put forward information about how many times their cars have been rented out. Since the new year, the number of transactions has increased by 10 percent each week, and more than half of the rental transactions have occurred during the last three months
In a report written earlier this year researcher Dag Slettemeås stated to the National Institute for Consumer Research (SIFO) that Nabobil in the Norwegian service area has become familiar for the name and service they provide. He believes the company is now “progressed so well that things will start progressing by its self.”
