The number of warnings about redundancies and possible layoffs remain high. In March NAV received 4400 alerts, 1,400 more than a year ago.
So far this year NAV received 14,700 notifications of possible redundancies and layoffs. This time last year the figure was 10,000.
– The large amount of alerts we receive confirm that we must expect a continued rise in unemployment, the Labor and Welfare Director Sigrun Vågeng, said in a statement.
It remains Rogaland who are most at risk, with redundancy notices and layoffs for over 1200 people in March. It is the lowest number since August last year, but still however over 200 more than the same period in 2015.
Only companies that are planning to terminate or lay off 10 or more employees have to notify NAV in advance.
