Nav Director, Sigrun Vågeng, is concerned and believes that the welfare state is threatened.

“It’s up to politicians and not Nav, where it has to be cut,” said Vågeng.

Last year, NAV reported expenses totaling NOK 506 billion.

Nav Director Sigrun Vågeng believes that the welfare state is threatened if not enough people go to work.

‘’Nav’s environmental analysis shows that we are getting more people here in the country, that we live longer, and that there are more people coming to Norway to live here. It also means greater pressure on the welfare benefits we have.

If people do not get work, this will not work out in the long run,” said Vågeng to NRK news.

“It’s up to politicians to tell us what to do to survive, what to put away and what we might need to exchange into the future,” encouraged Vågeng.

Job creation would seem to be the answer.
