New cuts are in the pipeline at Odfjell Drilling and up to 200 jobs are disappearing.

The downsizing is happening after Odfjell lost the contract for five Statoil platforms whilst simultaneously being affected by fewer opportunities in the market, says Director of HR Hilde Førland , to Stavanger Aftenblad.
Details about the number of positions to be cut and where  is not entirely clear, but Førland says that the biggest impact will be on their offices in Norway.
The newspaper writes that part of the Stavanger office of Odfjell Drilling, Engineering and Projects, is being proposed to close down.
– Apart from that, there will be cuts to all our engineering environments, and both Stavanger, Bergen and our other locations globally will be affected, says the chief union representative for Industri and Energi, Veronica Nistad. She expects to receive more information about the downsizing soon.
Odfjell Drilling has cut back by 900 employees over the past two years. The company now has about 2,400 employees.
