Now it will be easier to avoid frivolous craftsmen. Minister of Local Government and Modernisation
Jan Tore Sanner create a new seriousness registry for painters, electricians, bricklayers and carpenters.

The registry is a follow-up of the voluntary central authorization system for about 15,000 major companies as Sanner previously introduced and which was criticized from the brewing industry because they believed he did not go far enough.

– Seriousness Registry is a political excitement and a good tool against undeclared work, says Sanner to Avisenes Nyhetsbyrå (ANB).

He adds that it has been difficult to verify whether a company has the paperwork in order.

– It will be easier to find cheating among players and it is good for the serious part of the industry as well as for workers and citizens, says the Minister.

Registry is another measure in the fight against crime in the construction industry.
– We start with the digital information.

Registry will initially take in information from the tax authorities and Brønnøysundregistrene. Then you’ll know who pays tax and is registered, says Sanner to ANB.

This time, the construction industry pleased with the measure.

– Now we feel that the overall picture begins to fall into place. Seriousness Registry has one guiding principle: To indicate who you are and what you’re doing.

This is an important milestone, said CEO Jon Sandnes in BNL.
