New toll stations in Oslo and Bergen to be delayed
New toll stations in Oslo and Bergen will be postponed for three months. The reason for the delay is the delivery of toll equipment.
On Monday, the supplier, EFKON, announced a delay estimated at three months announced the Norwegian Public Roads Administration on Wednesday.
This means that the start-up of the new Bergen stations cannot start as planned on 1 January 2019.
The delay also applies to the new Oslo toll stations.
The Miljøpartiet De Grønne (MDG) apologised for the postponement, pointing out that it will produce lost revenues of NOK 300 million, which would largely have gone to public transport.
“The changes in the toll stations will lead to less traffic, safer school roads, cleaner air, and lower climate emissions,” said Einar Wilhelmsen, head of the Oslo MDG.
