NHO enterprises need more engineers

Young people should not be intimidated by the recession and opt out of engineering, according to NHO. Even the oil industry sees the need for more engineers in the future.

The national demand for engineers is still very large, CEO Kristin Skogen Lund Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) said.
The organization will present  its expertise barometer, where member companies talk about their need for competence in the day and a five year perspective. on Wednesday,
Half of the member companies reported that they had unmet needs for expertise, and for 40 percent of them  this lack leads to serious consequences, says Skogen Lund. The group that is in greatest demand by the NHO companies is craftsmen, followed by engineers and technologists.
Four out of ten member companies say they, to some extent or to a large extent, have a demand for engineers and technologists. The greatest demand is  for electrical engineers, structural engineers and mechanical engineers.
