An extremely dry summer has led to major challenges for agriculture throughout the Nordic region. Wednesday is the political summit on the dramatic situation.

The loss of crops is between 20 and 50 percent in all the Nordic countries, except Iceland, and Sweden’s Minister for Rural Development, Sven-Erik Bucht, has therefore invited his Nordic counterparts to Stockholm this coming Wednesday.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the possibilities for strengthening the Nordic preparedness for extreme weather in the long and short term.
