Taxi Companies across the country are competing against Uber with new apps. Among other things, 3,000 taxis will get support for web payments from the sevice Vipps.

App Taxifix, used by 3,000 taxis throughout the country, will now be connected to DNB’s payment Vipps, newspaper VG reports.
– We are pleased that we  now may offer an app and a payment system that is at least as easy to use as the one Uber is using. In addition, the revenues will stay here, they will not disappear from the country, like the money earned by Uber will, CEO Bjorn Rebne in Oslo Taxi says.
900 taxis in Oslo and 2,100 taxis in the rest of the country uses Taxifix, which is a collaboration between several taxi companies.
The competitor Norway Taxi already have an app where you can both pay and and keep track of the taxi you’ve ordered while it’s on its way to you. Both Bergen Taxi and Taxi 2 are working on their own apps.
