In July and August we will shop for over 100 billion NOK, estimates Virke. Among other things, poor summer weather entices more to go to shopping centers.

– Despite the oil brake, we estimate that summer trade will get a growth of 3 percent this year. Norwegians allow themselves still a little extra during the holiday season, says Johanne Kjuus, manager for trade in Virke.

– The weak exchange rate of NOK means that more people choose to take some more of the vacation in the home country, while it is also beneficial for foreign tourists. This is good for both Norwegian grocery stores and specialized trade, continue Kjuus.

Virke estimates that it will be traded for 103 billion during the summer months of July and August.

Shops, kiosks and petrol stations tops estimates with sales estimated at 97 billion. In Norwegian and foreign online stores Norwegians will sting 3.75 billion and 2.25 billion will be used on trips abroad, believes Virke.

In addition, trade outside sales outlets comes up in 300 million.
Bad weather causes more to head to the malls, while heat makes us allow ourselves more good food and drink, according to Wood.
