Zone S2 and 3S in Follo turned into one route from Monday which will make it cheaper to commute for a number of public transport users in Oslo.

The zone becomes larger, and Travellers in Drøbak and Ås will from Monday, 21st August belong to the same zone as Nesodden, Kolbotn, Ski, Vinterbro and Enebakk, informs Ruter on their websites.

– This represents a powerful simplification of public transport passengers through Akershus, says communications manager Gry Isberg in Connecting from Ruter to the newspaper online newspaper Nettavisen.

While travelers get one zone less to deal with, commuters saving with monthly tickets from former zone 3S Oslo 534 NOK per month for adults and 321 kroner for students, highlighting Ruter.

Vestby, a former zone 4S, will become connected to the zone 3S with the new changes.
October 14th will also be cheaper for NSB commuters from areas Drammen, Hamar and Moss traveling to Oslo.

Price cut makes monthly cards significantly cheaper. Travelers from Moss will therefore pay 1734 NOK for monthly card, compared with the current 2.165 NOK, according to newspaper Aftenposten.
