Every third respondents could imagine going down in salary in exchange for more interesting work. This is according to a job study done by Finn.

– We have done this study over several years, and it is interesting to see how self-development has been a constant important factor in job change, says job analyst Fredrik Schjold in Finn.
The proportion is highest in Oslo, where 39 percent of respondents said that they are in favor of wage cuts in exchange for more interesting tasks.

Consumer economist Kristina Picard Storebrand believes the numbers are positive.
– It is a reminder that we spend a large part of life at work, that in today’s society meaningful work is as important as higher material standard of living, at least for one-third of workers surveyed, she says.

She believes the study helps to refine the image that Norwegians fear economic crisis.
