Both Prime Minister Erna Solberg and Minister of Industry Monica Mæland were present at the opening of the new factory for the electric car Paxster in Sarpsborg on Wednesday.

It’s not every day   a car factory that  has received a huge contract opens in Norway. Paxster is a good example of what we want more of in Norwegian industry,  Mæland says in a comment to the news agency NTB.

Contracts
Paxster has a framework agreement for 100 cars a year to Norway,  Executive Vice President Hans Kristian Torgersen says.
He also said that  New Zealand Post has written a large contract to deliver mail cars.
– The agreement has a value which equals 70 million in revenue a year. We also made an agreement with a company in Germany to sell vehicles where, says Torgersen.
– Through the new contracts we have secured employment until late 2017, he said.
The factory currently has 20 jobs.
– So far we have invested nearly 50 million in this project. We already have 200 cars on the market, now we are increasing production to 80 cars a month,  Torgersen says.
