Despite the turbulent times in the Norwegian economy, at least one industry is marked by optimism – the food industry.
66 percent of the leaders in this industry believe in increased sales this year. This is markedly more than the other industries, where 49 percent on average think the same. There are also more people in the food industry who believe that profits will increase than in other industries, according to a report from Sentio which Nationen has obtained.
– The report gives an accurate picture of the mood in the industry, Eirik Nedrelid, director of communications and public relations in Norwegian Agricultural Cooperatives says.
He thinks that two things in particular explains the increased optimism; a low exchange rate and that the community over the past year have turned to the food industry and agriculture and asked for solutions for strengthening future value creation and ensuring the welfare arrangements of the future.
