Orkla has received requests for products that can fit into the Indian market. December will find Nugatti way onto store shelves in India.

Thursday, production began on the first delivery of chocolate spread to Indian consumers. The tubes will be transported by ship to India, writes E24.

It was Orkla’s sister company, MTR Foods, that made contact with them.

“They contacted us and wanted to see if it was possible to find products that would suit the Indian market, and became interested in chocolate spread.

When we are in the same group it makes things a whole lot easier,” says communications manager Bjorn Brennskag said.

He says they hope the new export product will be profitable, and says MTR think the market for chocolate spread in India will be around half a billion kroner per year over the next few years.
