Petroleum Safety Authority  (PSA) increases control operations as a result of the large and rapid downsizing of the oil and gas sector.

– We have expressed concern as a result of several accidents and incidents last year. We see that there are many changes happening at once, and the need to set certain monitoring practices in place

The authority has increased monitoring activities both onshore and on the Norwegian shelf.

Also Arbeidstilsynet is stepping up controls as a result of the oil crisis.

– Lately, the number of reports are concerning, and we therefore have a commitment on restructuring in the oil and gas sector, says the agency’s regional director in Borghild Lekve, in Western Norway.
